Shopping & Ordering FAQs

I don't see the Toyota with the specific colour & features I want in stock. What should I do?
If you're not seeing the Toyota of your dreams in our inventory, try using our Build & Price tool. With Build & Price, you can choose the exact model, colour, features, and upholstery you want. You’ll receive a price estimate you can share with our team so we can help you move forward with that one-of-a-kind ride that suits you like no other.
Is the vehicle price the same at the dealership as it is online?
A Toyota dealer is free to set their own prices for Toyota products and services. The Build & Price tool enables you to obtain a reasonable estimate based on Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) and gives you the option of including taxes and fees, but the final price will be discussed with your Toyota dealer.
What is Toyota Red Tag Days?
Toyota Red Tag Days is an annual national sales campaign, usually offered in the Spring. Red Tag Days may include promotional offers such as finance or lease incentives, special rates, and more. Toyota also offers several national promotions throughout the year.

What does ECO mode do?
ECO mode increases your vehicle’s fuel efficiency by reducing accelerator sensitivity and reducing the power used by the air conditioning system.
What’s included in a Toyota multipoint inspection?
A multipoint inspection is a quick check of key items that affect safety and reliability, like brakes, tires, battery condition, fluid levels, lights, wipers, and visible leaks. It’s a great way to catch small issues early and plan maintenance confidently.

Tires & Parts FAQs

Why do I need a tire rotation?
Due to the added forces of friction when braking and turning, your front tires will usually wear faster than the rear tires. Regularly rotating your tires helps you achieve more uniform wear and increases the longevity of all four tires.

It’s a good idea to rotate your tires approximately every 8,000 kilometres. We can help with that. Call us at (613) 523-8666 or schedule a service appointment online.
Are the tires on my Toyota vehicle warranted by Toyota Canada?
No. Tires originally installed on your Toyota vehicle are warranted by the respective tire manufacturer. Please refer to the tire pamphlet provided with your Toyota vehicle.
If a Toyota dealer installs Toyota parts or accessories to my vehicle, will it be covered under warranty?
Yes. Only genuine Toyota parts and accessories are covered by the Toyota Replacement Parts and Accessories Warranties. Non-genuine or aftermarket parts and accessories, or any damage or failures resulting from their use, are not covered by any Toyota warranty.
Are genuine Toyota oil filters better for my Toyota?
Yes. There may be differences between genuine Toyota filters and aftermarket filters. Genuine Toyota filters are designed and engineered to fit Toyota vehicles specifically and to maintain filtration performance to match the recommended oil change interval of 8,000 km. Aftermarket filters may not have the same fit or be manufactured to the same standards and may cause engine concerns.
Why is my tire pressure light on in cold weather?
Cold temperatures can cause tire pressure to drop naturally. If the warning light stays on after inflating to the recommended PSI, it’s worth checking for a slow leak or valve issue.

Hybrid & EV FAQs

What does Toyota "bZ" stand for?
Toyota "bZ" stands for Beyond Zero, Toyota’s sustainable, electric-focused lineup. You can learn more here: Electrification Lineup. Don’t forget to check out our EV and hybrid content for more related questions: EV content and Hybrid information.
Do cold temperatures affect EV range and hybrid efficiency in Ontario?
Yes. Cold weather can reduce EV range and can impact efficiency on hybrids as the vehicle works to warm the cabin and bring components to operating temperature. Keeping tires properly inflated and using seat heaters when available can help manage energy use.
Where can I learn more about Toyota hybrids and electrified models?

Ownership Basics & Help

What is the vehicle identification number (VIN)?
The Vehicle Identification Number, or VIN, is a sequence of 17 alphanumeric characters used to uniquely identify your vehicle. Vehicles purchased prior to 1992 may consist of fewer digits.
I lost my keys. Where can I find the key code?
For security reasons, and to ensure that only the owner has access to key codes, Toyota Canada is unable to provide key codes. Please contact us if you’ve lost your vehicle keys and need a replacement. Proof of ownership will be required.

Where can I find the information concerning the towing capacity of my Toyota?
For towing information on current model year vehicles, visit the vehicle’s Specifications section. Towing and weight capacity information is also available in your Owner’s Manual under Trailer Towing.

Note: Toyota does not recommend exceeding your vehicle’s load capacity as it can adversely affect performance, braking, durability, and driving efficiency. If you’d like help confirming towing details for your exact model, contact us here: Contact Us.
What is an appraisal of my car’s value?
An appraisal is an evaluation of the condition and value of a vehicle, which represents a dealer’s assessment of what they would be willing to pay for that vehicle. That offer to purchase may be contingent on your purchase of another vehicle from the dealership.
What do I do if I am a Scion owner?
As a Scion owner you can take your vehicle to any Toyota dealership and still expect the same great service from knowledgeable technicians. Any Toyota dealership can service your Scion, and any warranty on your Scion will continue to apply as normal.
What happened to Scion?
As part of the next chapter of transition, the Scion FR-S and Scion iM became the Toyota 86 and Toyota Corolla iM for the 2017 model year. Toyota looked forward to this next chapter, welcoming a new generation of car buyers.
